We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Lead Informatics Midwife to lead the digital transformation of maternity services across the Health Board.

This senior clinical leadership role is suited to a registered midwife with expertise in clinical informatics.

You will lead the development, implementation and optimisation of digital maternity systems to support safe, high-quality, evidence-based care, improving outcomes and experience for women and families.

Working in partnership with clinical, digital, operational and national stakeholders, you will help modernise maternity services through the effective use of information, technology and data.

You will ensure clinicians can access timely, accurate and meaningful information to support decision-making and care delivery.

As the professional lead for maternity informatics, you will contribute to local and national programmes, including Digital Maternity Cymru, ensuring alignment with NHS Wales priorities.

You will provide leadership across programme design, change management, governance and benefits realisation, assuring quality, safety and performance.

You will bring strong knowledge of maternity pathways and digital systems, experience of leading complex change, and the ability to engage multidisciplinary teams.

You will also develop digital capability across the workforce, promoting innovation and continuous improvement.

Provide assurance on delivery, safety and benefits realisation.

Person specification

Qualifications

  • Essential criteria
  • Registered Midwife with Nursing & Midwifery Council
  • Master's degree or equivalent qualification in a health-related subject
  • Evidence of a training qualification or equivalent experience
  • Desirable criteria
  • Registered with a relevant informatics professional body

Experience

  • Essential criteria
  • Maternity management experience, including resource management
  • Expertise and experience in applying NHS Wales Health & Care standards into practice
  • Experience in undertaking maternity audits, including maternity documentation
  • Expertise in delivering training.
  • Effective leadership skills, coaching and mentoring experience.
  • Significant clinical experience
  • Demonstrate knowledge of project management and experience.
  • Experience and understanding of change management process
  • Knowledge of health service management, including change management and workforce redesign
