Senior Layout Artist

Job Purpose

• Our Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand (CCMB) team is responsible for conveying the essence of Emirates Group.
• Our team is pivotal in representing the attitudes, beliefs and goals of our organisation across the globe, both internally and with our customers alike!
• The Senior Layout Artist will direct an assigned team and supervise the production of all finished digital artwork undertaken for the Emirates Group ensuring that timelines are adhered to, quality standards are met, and work is produced within budget.
• In this role you will:
• Maintain a set of standards to ensure all artwork produced meets the standards expected by the Emirates Group. Create and oversee quality digital artwork for signage, brochures, leaflets, newsletters, advertisements, exhibitions, guides, outdoor media etc.
• Adhere to all rules and standards within the Visual Standard Guide (VSG) whilst ensuring all artwork follows the project brief and is consistent with the VSG. All artwork must be checked and must meet all professional technical and quality control standards; any variances must be highlighted and addressed with the Layout Artist.
• Monitor and check all material is produced to agreed deadlines. Assess all elements of a given job, ensure that all necessary information has been given to the team and the Layout Artist is clear about their production responsibilities and expected delivery schedule. Any potential delivery issues to be highlighted to the appropriate person within the team.
• Ensure the detailed cataloguing, safe keeping and storage of all projects generated by all Layout Artists so that they are easily accessible and ensure that we are consistent with industry best practice and that appropriate suggestions are escalated.
• Continually evolve and improve production, storage and quality control systems through benchmarking with local and international agencies.
• Guide and develop a team of Layout Artists, ensuring that there are development plans in place for each team member reflecting technical and soft skills. Ensure that departmental objectives and KPIs are cascaded to the team.
• Function as an in-house expert on graphic design packages and systems, and provide periodical updates to the wider team, as well as training where appropriate.

Qualification

• To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
• Degree preferably in Graphic Design related course
• 5+ years experience in an advertising agency/graphic design studio environment or a similar role
• Have proven experience in a wide range of graphic design projects including below-the-line, corporate identities, brochures, direct-mail, exhibitions, newsletters, promotional material, retail, digital, outdoor media, design and print.
• Excellent spoken/written understanding of English.
• Demonstrate good personal management and problem-solving skills.
• Show expert knowledge in the following software: InDesign / Photoshop / Illustrator.
• Be proficient on a Mac and with the OSX operating system.
