Senior kdb+ Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design kdb+ architectures and deliver client solutions to high quality and performance standards.
• Work with quants, traders and analysts to translate business needs into efficient code.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and foster technical knowledge sharing.
• Develop, test, support and maintain client application code across the development lifecycle.
• Keep current with kdb+, q and adjacent technologies to drive innovation.

Required experience and skills

• 5+ years of hands-on kdb+ development, with deep expertise in q and time-series data.
• Experience designing and implementing kdb+ architectures and scaling systems in production.
• Strong Unix/Linux and scripting background.
• Technical leadership, project decision-making and communication skills.
• Capital markets or investment banking experience to understand the domain.
• Commitment to clean, performant code and continuous improvement.

Bonus experience

• Python, cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure, or other time-series databases.
• Exposure to tick data, real-time analytics or electronic trading systems.
• People management or team leadership experience.
