Senior Java Developer

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and efficient Java applications.
• Use AWS services to build and deploy cloud-based solutions with high availability and scalability.
• Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, write complex SQL queries, and optimize database performance.
• Develop and manage batch-processing systems for large data volumes.
• Ensure code quality through reviews, unit testing, and best practices; collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and developers.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other technical issues; mentor junior developers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of Java development experience in product development or a services environment.
• At least 3 years of AWS experience, with services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and Event Bus.
• At least 5 years of relational database experience, including complex joins and performance troubleshooting; examples include Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication, and collaborative working ability.
• SC clearance is essential.

Preferred qualifications

• Hands-on experience with batch-processing frameworks and tools is preferred.
• At least 2 years of Python experience is nice to have.
