Lead the design, governance and modernization of enterprise integration solutions across cloud-native, legacy and external partner environments.
The role focuses strongly on Microsoft Azure and Azure API Management, delivering secure, scalable and resilient integration architectures.
Key responsibilities
- Lead integration architecture across Azure, on-premises and hybrid environments; produce HLDs, architecture documents and API specifications.
- Govern enterprise APIs, including standards, lifecycle, Products, subscriptions, throttling, discovery and reuse.
- Design APIM policies and secure API and hybrid connectivity patterns, including identity, networking and private endpoints.
- Define non-functional requirements and design REST, microservices, messaging and event-driven integrations.
- Partner with Platform and DevOps teams on CI/CD, APIOps/GitOps, infrastructure as code, monitoring and observability.
- Present designs through governance reviews and guide engineering teams in API-first, loosely coupled architecture.
Essential experience
- 8+ years across software engineering, solution architecture or integration architecture, including significant enterprise design leadership.
- Strong experience designing distributed, cloud and enterprise integration solutions, with deep hands-on Azure API Management expertise.
- Experience with APIM networking, private DNS, hub-and-spoke architectures, policies, Products, subscriptions and gateway configuration.
- Knowledge of REST, microservices, event-driven integration, API security, Azure, Terraform or similar IaC, and Azure DevOps/CI/CD.
- Experience producing HLDs and presenting architecture through governance processes; strong stakeholder and communication skills.
Desirable skills
- Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Event Grid, APIOps/GitOps and Azure observability tools.
- Knowledge of Azure API Center or similar cataloguing platforms, and emerging AI integration patterns such as MCP or AI Gateway.
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) certifications are desirable.
