Senior IT Architect

We are looking for a Technical IT Architect to lead a team of Technical and Cloud Architects to develop strategic IT roadmaps, technical solutions and standards for specific IT architectural domains ensuring effective governance and control and the delivery of business requirements, whilst minimising IT risk and optimising the IT estate.

In this position you will:

Research, create, agree, communicate and maintain 3-5 year IT product and supplier roadmaps

Manage a team of Technical and Cloud Architects both directly employed and via 3 rd Party’s

Identify, evaluate and select technology, applications and service products

Develop, agree, control, maintain and govern effective delivery of IT architectural solution blue prints and Cloud based designs

Develop, agree, control and maintain IT architectural standards and policies for product, technology, information and service

Manage the technology relationships with third party suppliers and contractors.

Support through SME knowledge IT operational incidents and proposed IT Change.

Responsibility for analysing and documenting the entire technical landscape of all systems and applications, logical and physical

Maximising the productivity of the team by ensuring the necessary skills exist to fulfil anticipated and actual resource requests through appropriate resource/skills management

Provide a focal point for all technical issue and initiatives

Provide input/ownership of specific Architectural Repositories and Governance Processes

The successful applicant will be expected to have:

Experience in playing a key role within an IT delivery function

Excellent Leadership skills and experience gained through previous Technical Leadership roles

Broad experience across all aspects of an IT Service

Working knowledge of all Architectural domains

Evidence of previous technical design and architectural experience

Experience of end-to-end architecture, covering business requirements through to technical deployments and service design

Ability to produce and critique detailed technical solution designs including Cloud

Experience of successfully working to tight deadlines

Excellent presentation and influencing skills

Evidence of working in a regulated environment

Working knowledge of:

Emerging technologies and standards

Wider IT market issues

Architectural standards and methodologies e.g. TOGAF

Architectural design patterns

Good working knowledge of change lifecycle skills:

Analysis and requirements management

Functional Decomposition

Business models

Data models

This is a Level 5 Specialist position which includes an annual bonus of up to 25%, private medical insurance cover and 28 days holiday.
