Senior Investment Associate

Startup Assessment & Investment Logic

• Conduct full startup assessments aligned with Falak’s investment thesis and strategy
• Evaluate market opportunity, business model, traction, and founder quality
• Apply structured downside thinking and risk analysis
• Form a clear view on whether a startup is suitable for investment at Falak

Financial Analysis & Modeling

• Build and review early-stage financial models and scenarios
• Assess unit economics, burn rate, runway, and capital requirements
• Support valuation logic and investment decision-making

Investment Memos & IC Readiness

• Prepare clear, structured investment memos
• Articulate upside, downside, assumptions, and key risks
• Ensure materials are investment-committee ready and defensible

Due Diligence Ownership

• Own key diligence components (commercial, financial, market, founder)
• Identify gaps, risks, and areas requiring validation
• Coordinate inputs and ensure diligence is complete and decision-ready

Founder Communication

• Engage with founders professionally and constructively
• Ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and test clarity of thinking
• Represent Falak with credibility, respect, and judgment

Portfolio Monitoring Fundamentals

• Support post-investment monitoring and reporting
• Track performance, risks, milestones, and early warning signals
• Contribute to portfolio reviews and investment insights

Ecosystem & Investor Engagement

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with founders, investors, and ecosystem partners
• Contribute to Falak’s presence and credibility within the startup and investment ecosystem

• Ability to write clear, concise, and defensible investment memos
• Disciplined approach to downside and risk
• Comfort working with imperfect, early-stage information
• Ownership mindset, sees diligence and assessment through end to end
• Strong communication skills with founders, investors, and internal stakeholders

How Success Is Evaluated

• This role is assessed based on

• Quality and clarity of investment memos authored
• IC readiness and feedback on decision materials
• Depth and realism of downside analysis
• Completion and ownership of diligence components
• Ability to flag early risks and assumptions
• Strength of relationships built within the startup and investment ecosystem

Experience & Background

• 3–5+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, strategy, or startup investing
• Hands-on experience with financial modeling and due diligence
• Exposure to early-stage startups and portfolio monitoring is a plus
