Overview

We are seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to lead end-to-end audit engagements across our insurance operations.

In this role, you will evaluate internal controls, ensure strict regulatory compliance, and leverage financial data to deliver strategic process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with regulations, UAE laws, and industry standards.
  • Review finance & accounting, underwriting, claims processing, reinsurance, policy administration processes, and corporate functions.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulatory frameworks impacting the insurance sector.
  • Perform detailed reviews of financial statements, accounting processes, and transactions.
  • Conduct data-driven analysis to identify irregularities, inefficiencies, and fraud risks.
  • Assess the adequacy of financial reporting and safeguarding of company assets.
  • Prepare and present high-quality audit reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Engage with senior management to discuss audit findings, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Track and follow up on audit issues to ensure timely resolution and closure.
  • Provide advisory support to business units on internal controls and risk mitigation.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen control environments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies, tools, and frameworks.

Pre-Requisite

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent (required/preferred)
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in internal audit, finance, or accounting
  • Proven experience in the insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management, and internal control frameworks
  • Solid understanding of insurance operations (underwriting, claims, reinsurance, compliance)
  • Proficiency in data analysis and audit tools (Excel, ERP systems, analytics tools)
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal & written communication in English & Arabic is a must.
