Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, resilient Java applications and microservices.
• Build Spring-based services and REST APIs, and develop Kafka event-driven solutions.
• Design and implement cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Apply concurrency, JVM, 12-Factor App, data structure, and algorithm concepts to build efficient systems.
• Implement application security and secure coding practices.
• Collaborate across architecture, product, business analysis, QA, and DevOps throughout the SDLC.
• Drive code quality, testing, code reviews, CI/CD delivery, and performance optimization.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and participate in architecture and technology reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support root cause analysis.

Core technical requirements

• Java 17/21 or higher; Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, and microservices.
• REST API design, Apache Kafka, event-driven architecture, and JSON or Avro serialization.
• Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Java multithreading, concurrency, thread pools, synchronization, executor framework, CompletableFuture, and parallel processing.
• JVM architecture, memory management, garbage collection, thread management, and performance tuning.
• Spring Security, OAuth 2.0, JWT, secure coding, API security, and OWASP guidelines.
• PostgreSQL and Oracle or MySQL, with SQL query optimization.
• Clean code, SOLID, design patterns, JUnit, Mockito, integration testing, code review, Agile/Scrum, and Git.

Nice-to-have skills

• Reactive programming, additional GCP services, Terraform, observability tools, API gateways, service mesh, OpenAPI/Swagger, Redis, performance tuning, AI/ML integration, and Domain-Driven Design are listed as desirable.
• Financial services or banking domain experience is desirable.
