Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented **Senior General Ledger (GL) Accountant** to join our finance team in Doha.
This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting reporting cycles, and maintaining strong accounting controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the general ledger accounting process
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities accurately and on time
- Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation and compliance
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures
- Assist in internal and external audit processes
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) is preferred
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in GL accounting or general accounting roles
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
