Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Senior Geology Manager role based in Doha, Qatar.

The Senior Geology Manager will lead geological and geotechnical investigations, including field surveys, sampling, geological mapping, and interpretation of subsurface data to support energy, infrastructure, and construction projects.

The role involves managing geophysical and drilling programs, evaluating ground conditions, and providing technical recommendations for design, excavation, foundation systems, and slope stability.

The Senior Geology Manager will oversee geological models, risk assessments, and technical reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and HSE requirements.

The position includes coordinating with internal engineering, mining, and construction teams, managing external consultants and laboratories, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in Geology and Geological Mapping, with the ability to interpret complex stratigraphy, structural features, and site conditions.
  • Proficiency in Geophysics and related subsurface investigation techniques for data acquisition, analysis, and integration into geological models.
  • Experience in Geotechnical Engineering, including soil and rock characterization, foundation design input, slope stability, and ground improvement recommendations.
  • Knowledge of Mining Engineering principles related to resource evaluation, excavation planning, and ground support in mining or large-scale earthworks environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline; a master’s degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
  • Significant experience in managing geology or geotechnical teams on large infrastructure, energy, or construction projects, ideally in the Middle East or similar environments.
  • Proficiency with geological and geotechnical software (e.g., GIS, 3D modeling, slope stability and geotechnical analysis tools) and strong report-writing skills.
