Senior Gen AI Software Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead development of enterprise chatbots, evaluation frameworks, agentic workflows, RAG architectures, GenAI applications, and MCP implementations.
• Experiment with foundation models, design AI/ML architectures, assess emerging technologies, and build proofs of concept for production.
• Develop FastAPI services and cloud AI infrastructure on AWS or Azure, optimizing reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Build full-stack applications that integrate AI into user-facing products and backend systems.
• Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle and apply engineering best practices.
• Work with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and align solutions with user needs and strategic objectives.

Required qualifications

• At least 7 years designing, developing, and deploying production-grade AI/ML systems, including generative AI at scale.
• At least 5 years building and deploying enterprise applications in full-stack software engineering.
• Advanced Python and strong backend development skills.
• Production conversational AI experience with RAG, MCP, AI-enabled search, vector databases, and LLM integration.
• Enterprise LangChain and LangGraph experience, including agent architecture, state, memory, and graph-based workflow orchestration.
• Expertise in embeddings, vector databases, and LLM integration or fine-tuning; ML knowledge and production experience with FastAPI, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and MLflow.
• Experience with MLOps, Docker, Kubernetes or AWS EKS, AWS or Azure, AI services, and orchestration tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.

Work arrangement

• Hybrid work, with 2–3 days per week in the office depending on business line and location.

Compensation

• For Chicago roles, expected base pay is $120,000–$140,000 per year; individual compensation may vary.
• Total compensation may also include commission, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and benefits.
