Senior Fullstack Developer (Python) - AI features team

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and debug production-ready frontend and backend software in a cross-functional team.
• Build AI features using LLMs; contribute to data-engineering pipelines and infrastructure as needed.
• Spend at least 75% of time coding, improving architecture, and reducing technical debt.
• Lead through code reviews, mentoring, coaching, role-modelling, and knowledge sharing.
• Improve component reuse, extensibility, maintainability, and scalability; monitor production systems and fix client issues.
• Help define the technical roadmap and cross-team initiatives, and identify product requirement gaps with Product Owners.
• Plan and execute automated end-to-end tests, improve testing practices, and raise risks or barriers.
• A future on-call rotation may be part of the role.

Candidate qualifications

• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience, including full stack development.
• Deep JavaScript and frontend framework experience; Vue.js is preferred, or React or Angular. Corresponding unit-testing framework experience is requested.
• Development experience in Python; experience with SQL databases, Git, CI/CD, Docker, SQLAlchemy, and cloud platforms. AWS is preferred.
• Strong French and English communication and collaboration skills; English fluency is required for collaboration beyond Quebec.
• College degree, professional or technical training in computer science or engineering, or demonstrated learning experience.
• Experience making difficult technical decisions in ambiguous situations; LLM feature or operational research exposure is an asset.

Location and work model

• Role is based in Montreal with a hybrid schedule requiring presence in the office on two set collaboration days each week.
