About the role

People leadership and engineering delivery

• Hire, coach, retain, assess, and develop engineering team members; foster ownership, accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning.
• Own delivery from technical design through deployment and operations, and guide engineering standards, technical decisions, and operational practices.
• Own team quality, including risk-appropriate test coverage, safe rollout and rollback, and clear production ownership.
• Make AI-first workflows standard across specification, design, implementation, testing, review, documentation, and production investigation.
• Set safeguards for AI-assisted work, codify effective practices, use efficiency data to address bottlenecks, and deliver measurable reductions in toil.
• Define and execute the roadmap with Product Managers; deliver customer-focused features, use metrics, and protect engineering-health work.
• Identify technical opportunities and risks, align interfaces and decisions with partner teams, and resolve complex customer challenges with internal stakeholders.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on software development and 3+ years of people management in a technical industry.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and organizational skills; knowledge of AI-assisted development and contemporary software practices.
• Start-up or scale-up experience; experience with Python, Vue.js, and AWS is an asset.
• Healthcare, home health, or medical device experience is an asset.
• Strong French and English communication and collaboration; English fluency is required for work with colleagues, clients, and partners outside Quebec.

Location and work model

• The role is based in Montreal and follows a hybrid model with two set in-office collaboration days each week; team members are expected in the office on those days.
