Senior Full Stack Software Designer (Java & React)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support full stack applications; build responsive, accessible React interfaces.
• Develop back-end services and business logic using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and Python; build microservices and secure REST APIs.
• Design and optimize relational databases and SQL queries; contribute to cloud-native deployment and operational support.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, QA, DevOps, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams on technical solutions.
• Ensure quality through peer reviews, automated testing, and engineering practices; troubleshoot issues across the full stack.
• Support CI/CD, releases, and deployment automation; maintain technical documentation and improve engineering standards.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience, including significant full stack experience.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot expertise; proven React web application experience.
• Back-end technology experience such as Node.js and Python; experience building APIs and microservices.
• Strong SQL, relational database, schema design, and query optimization knowledge.
• Cloud deployment experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform; experience with Git.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps; knowledge of security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

• TypeScript and modern front-end architecture; Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployment.
• Event-driven architecture, messaging, asynchronous processing, API gateways, observability, logging, or monitoring.
• Enterprise-scale high-availability and security environments, Agile teams, or banking, financial services, and other regulated industries.
• Mentoring developers and contributing to technical leadership.

Technical skills

• Front end: React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design.
• Back end: Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Database: SQL, relational databases, data modeling, schema design, and query optimization.
• Cloud and DevOps: AWS, Azure, GCP, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment automation.
• Engineering practices: testing, code reviews, debugging, performance tuning, and secure coding.

Compensation

• Estimated salary range is $95,000–$145,000; compensation depends on skills, geographic market, experience, training, licenses, and certifications.
