Senior Full Stack Developer – Java & Angular

Position Description

Workplace and Clearance

• This is a hybrid position.
• The programme requires UK Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain it.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance reusable full stack components, services, and APIs.
• Develop Java and Angular solutions, including microservices, RESTful APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.
• Improve shared components, documentation, reference implementations, and tooling for service onboarding.
• Apply test-driven development and automated testing across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end levels.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and deployment automation for Azure and Kubernetes.
• Use monitoring, logs, metrics, and traces to improve performance, resilience, and service operability.
• Collaborate across CGI, client, supplier, architecture, product, delivery, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Mentor developers, contribute to code reviews, and share reusable engineering approaches.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on software development experience with Java, Angular, Node.js, and Express.js.
• Proven experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Azure cloud technologies and Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with CI/CD and tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Terraform.
• Experience with automated testing, secure development, and maintainable production-quality software.
• Ability to translate architecture and requirements into practical solutions and make pragmatic engineering decisions.
• Ability to communicate risks, dependencies, and trade-offs across multidisciplinary and multi-supplier teams.

Desirable Skills

• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Codex or GitHub Copilot is desirable.
