Senior Finance Manager - 6 month fixed term contract

Role overview

What you’ll do

• Partner with the Hospital Director and senior operational leaders and provide practical recommendations.
• Provide financial insight and constructive challenge as part of the hospital Senior Management Team.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting and explain performance, risks, and opportunities to operational teams.
• Oversee management information, payroll, billing, accruals, balance sheet, and reconciliations while maintaining controls.
• Help improve theatre utilisation, reduce cancellations, and control workforce and agency costs.
• Support investment decisions, growth opportunities, and bids.
• Lead and make effective use of the Finance Analyst, Data Analyst, Clinical Coders, and central finance support.

• Qualified accountant with substantial post-qualification experience.
• Strong operational or commercial finance business-partnering experience.
• Able to turn complex financial and operational information into clear, actionable insight and influence senior non-finance colleagues.
• Strong commercial judgment and advanced analytical, forecasting, modeling, and Excel skills.
• Experience managing a team; proactive, accountable, delivery-focused, able to prioritize and perform under pressure.
• Private or commercially focused healthcare experience is advantageous.

Compensation

• Pay depends on experience; the package also includes a car allowance and bonus scheme.

Workplace

• The role is described as hands-on and site-based at the Birmingham hospital.
