Project planning and engineering

• Survey sites and plan, schedule, and execute field instrumentation construction scope.
• Prepare project and construction schedules, WBS, hook-up drawings, MTOs, instrument data sheets, specifications, and layouts.
• Evaluate vendor quotations and coordinate hardware procurement; support sales offer preparation.
• Coordinate instrumentation and configuration requirements with the control-system team.
• Prepare cable specifications, cable schedules, routing drawings, JB schedules, method statements, and other erection documents.
• Size and select flowmeters and control valves.

Installation and commissioning

• Support field instrument and control-system installation, calibration, commissioning, loop checking, and troubleshooting.
• Use HART and Fieldbus communicators for loop checking, calibration, and instrument re-ranging; commission Foundation Fieldbus instruments.
• Coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, shutdown, and tie-in activities and supervise installation contractors.
• Comply with project specifications and standards; estimate construction manpower and material requirements.
• Coordinate project documentation with the Document Controller and inspection and testing activities with the QC Engineer.

Qualifications and experience

• A degree or diploma in an engineering field is required; instrumentation, electrical, or electronics is preferred.
• At least 8 years of field instrumentation project and construction experience is required.
• Control-system experience is advantageous.

Knowledge and competencies

• Knowledge of field instrumentation erection, commissioning, and control systems.
• Conversant with international field installation and commissioning standards, P&IDs, hazardous-area classification, cable specifications, and intrinsic safety.
• Knowledge of DCS, transmitters, valve-positioner calibration, and instrumentation concepts.
• Strong leadership, subordinate and manpower management, IT basics, and Microsoft applications.
• Able to meet project schedules, quality standards, and company and customer targets.
