Senior Engineer - Utility Telecommunications

Our Telecom Engineers focus on complex engineering designs, BOM's, and construction packages for telecommunications solutions while providing support throughout the construction process.

include verifying implementation feasibility, documenting site details, creating a full design package that meets client standards for construction, and collaborating within a team environment.

• Research and create engineering designs of complex telecommunications solutions in the Power/Utility industry
• Create designs: Detailed single line diagrams (SLD), and full construction packages for robust telecommunications solutions: OPGW/ADSS/DWDM Fiber, Microwave, SONET MUX, MHz & Repeaters, Satellite, Radio, FAN, Circuit Paths, Power, Switches, Routers, TCP/IP, and Firewalls.
• Create and markup SLDs, interconnect diagrams, WAN, LAN, tower drawings, etc.
• Multi-task and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with management, substation, Transmission, Distribution, Specialists. And field technicians.
• Use Adobe Pro, Excel, Visio, and MS Office suite to create detailed documentation and designs.
• BS in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent. PE preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in researching and architecting/designing complex telecommunication solutions for utilities.
• Must be able to pass a NERC CIP level background check.
• Candidates must be a US Citizen or possess a valid Green Card (Permanent Resident Card) to be considered.

• Providing engineering support throughout construction and clearances, as built process, and close out documentation.
• Hands on experience design (complete SLD and Construction Package) in at least five of the Telecom solutions listed under responsibilities above.
• 3+ years of experience with Comsearch, Pathloss and similar products
• PE preferred.
• Proven track record of success and delivering results.
• Strong sense of methodology, process, and metrics in managing functions and projects. Must have extremely high attention to details.
• Proven ability to manage tasks under tight deadlines.
• 2+ years of management experience or as team lead assisting more junior telecom engineers.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills conducive to team development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exposure to Bentley MicroStation and or AutoCAD is a plus.
