We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team.

This pivotal role will be responsible for the detailed design and analysis of high-voltage overhead transmission lines (HVAC/HVDC) for critical infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of industry best practices, relevant software proficiency, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the detailed design and analysis of overhead transmission lines (HVAC/HVDC), encompassing route selection, tower spotting, conductor selection, and insulation coordination.
  • Utilize industry-standard software such as PLS-CADD (Power Line Systems) for transmission line design and CYMCAP for cable modeling.
  • Employ related analysis tools, including AutoCAD and GIS, for design and visualization purposes.
  • Apply a comprehensive understanding of relevant international standards (IEC, IEEE) and local regulations (e.g., Saudi Arabian standards) to all design activities.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with construction methodologies, installation techniques, and quality control procedures for both overhead and underground systems.
  • Conduct complex technical calculations and provide robust solutions to engineering challenges related to transmission line and cable system design and performance.
  • Identify potential technical risks during the design and construction phases and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and professional technical reports, specifications, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effectively coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineering disciplines, surveyors, environmental specialists, and construction teams.
  • Conduct site investigations and collect essential data for design purposes, including the interpretation of geotechnical and survey reports.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety principles and ensure adherence to safety practices throughout the design process.
  • Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in the detailed design and analysis of high-voltage overhead transmission lines
  • Demonstrable expertise in using industry-standard software for transmission line design (e.g., PLS-CADD, Power Line Systems) and cable modeling (e.g., CYMCAP).
  • Proficiency in related analysis tools such as AutoCAD and GIS.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant international (IEC, IEEE) and local (e.g., Saudi Arabian standards) codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with construction and installation practices for both overhead
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform complex technical calculations.
  • Proven experience in risk assessment and mitigation within the context of design and construction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
