The role bridges project delivery and operations, preparing process systems for operability, maintainability, integrity, and readiness before start-up and handover.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, LNG, or a similar industry.
- At least 5 years of experience in PMC projects.
Familiarity and beneficial tools
- Familiarity with OR&A frameworks, reliability-centered maintenance, and asset lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in process simulation tools such as HYSYS or Aspen Plus is beneficial.
Operations readiness and assurance
- Develop and implement OR&A plans and strategies; align project deliverables with operational requirements.
- Define and monitor readiness milestones and assurance gates; participate in stage-gate reviews from FEED through start-up.
- Ensure designs meet operability, maintainability, and safety requirements; identify process risks and recommend mitigation.
- Support process optimization strategies before start-up.
Design and operability reviews
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and LOPA studies, constructability and operability workshops, and 3D model reviews.
- Incorporate lessons learned and operational feedback; verify equipment accessibility, isolation philosophy, and maintainability.
Documentation and handover
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of as-built documentation, process datasheets, control narratives, and vendor documentation.
- Verify readiness of operating procedures, training materials, spare parts, and criticality lists.
