Senior Engineer - Network Security Operations

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Operate LAN, WLAN, WAN, Internet, VPN, and hybrid-cloud connectivity; configure Aruba and Cisco platforms and maintain availability and security.
• Implement and operate Palo Alto firewall controls and Zscaler secure Internet and private-application access.
• Configure Azure networking and hybrid connectivity, including VNets, VPNs, routing, DNS, and NSGs.
• Monitor security, capacity, service health, configuration drift, and ISP resilience; improve telemetry and SIEM integration.
• Investigate and restore incidents, coordinate response, perform root-cause analysis, and complete corrective actions.
• Remediate vulnerabilities, harden and patch configurations, and execute controlled changes with testing and rollback plans.
• Deliver upgrades and migrations; validate resilience, failover, interoperability, and capacity.
• Maintain network records, backups, runbooks, and audit evidence; coordinate cabling and as-built documentation.
• Escalate vendor and carrier issues, track support and renewals, contribute procurement input, and mentor engineers.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of enterprise networking or network-security experience with complex production operations and incident resolution.
• Hands-on Aruba, Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, and Palo Alto experience, including routing, segmentation, policies, NAT, VPN, and high availability.
• Practical Zscaler ZIA/ZPA, SASE, Zero Trust, proxy forwarding, PAC file, inspection, and exception-handling experience.
• Azure networking and hybrid connectivity experience, including VNets, peering, VPN Gateway, routing, UDRs/BGP, NSGs, and segregation.
• Strong TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, network access control, troubleshooting, monitoring, SIEM, remediation, change, and vendor escalation experience.
• Clear communication, operational judgment, documentation, and cross-team coordination.

Preferred qualifications

• Cisco ISE/802.1X, Catalyst Center, or Catalyst SD-WAN experience is a plus.
• Relevant Cisco CCNP, Aruba, Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, Azure networking, or ITIL certification, or equivalent demonstrated expertise, is a plus.
