Key Requirements

  • Good knowledge of sheet metal design and sheet metal working processes
  • Knowledge of 3D design and 2D drafting using CREO or any other CAD software
  • Ability to work with speed and accuracy to deliver manufacturing drawings and other documents
  • Experience in design of sheet metal enclosures for indoor applications
  • Knowledge of enclosure design considering dust and water Ingress Protection
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7-8 years of relevant work experience
  • Desirable
  • Hands on Experience on sheet metal prototype development
  • Knowledge of busbar design considerations
  • Ability to work independently with least supervision

Responsibilities

  • Design of complete sheet metal enclosure (3D design and manufacturing 2D drawings)
  • Visit supplier and manufacturing plant for prototype development
  • Handle all design related activities from product request till prototype development
  • Responsible for timely and accurate delivery of drawings and other documents
  • Perform detailed structural analysis and validation of designs to ensure safety, durability, and cost efficiency.
  • Provide alternative solutions for mechanical designs that reduce costs without compromising quality or specifications.
  • Evaluate and suggest alternative materials to enhance performance and reduce costs, ensuring compliance with both mechanical and electrical requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Electrical Engineers, Manufacturing, etc.) to optimize product designs.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for engineering projects.
