Senior Electrical Engineer

Role overview

Engineering review and design

• Manage, review, and approve design documents and drawings for HV/LV power supply, electrical plant, motors, MCCs, and related process buildings.
• Review and comment on project company submissions and recommend acceptance or otherwise.
• Peer-review electrical contract documents, calculations, and reports.
• Perform design and other related duties as directed.

Inspection and commissioning

• Review, verify, comment on, and monitor inspection, pre-commissioning, and commissioning plans; provide no-objection recommendations.
• Commission electrical installations and witness acceptance tests with relevant parties and government departments.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, with professional career development records as approved by the Engineer.
• Extensive experience reviewing and verifying project data for compliance with specifications, applicable law, performance standards, approvals, and good industry practice.
• Knowledge of pumping station and sewage treatment plant electrical design and equipment.

Technical requirements

• Detailed knowledge of electrical specifications, QCS requirements, electrical equipment operation and maintenance, and Kahramaa specifications.
• Experience with primary and secondary substations, electrical contract documents, calculations, and reports.
• Detailed knowledge of electrical equipment testing and commissioning, including FAT and SAT; commissioning experience is required.

Preferred qualification

• Chartered Engineer with a recognized professional institution is highly preferred.
