Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of commercial strategies related to transport projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and governance frameworks
• Manage contract administration activities, including negotiation, execution, change management, claims, and close-out processes
• Oversee procurement activities, ensuring competitive sourcing, value for money, and compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations
• Drive cost management and budgeting processes to support project delivery within approved financial parameters
• Collaborate with project delivery, finance, legal, and risk teams to mitigate commercial risks and resolve issues promptly
• Develop and maintain commercial frameworks, policies, procedures, and templates tailored to transport projects
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to commercial and procurement teams to enhance performance and capability
• Ensure robust reporting and governance through regular updates to senior management and executive stakeholders
• Engage with external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and regulators, to maintain strong commercial relationships
• Identify and implement continuous improvements in commercial processes and practices

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Commercial Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Transport Management, or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications (Masters or MBA) preferred

Experience And Skills

• 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial leadership roles within transport infrastructure or related sectors
• Strong expertise in contract administration, procurement strategy, and commercial risk management
• Proven track record managing complex transport projects, preferably within large infrastructure or governmental organizations
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working within stringent governance and compliance frameworks
• Ability to drive cost control and value optimization strategies
• Strong problem-solving skills and commercial acumen
