Role overview

DevOps and Python platform engineering specialist role focused on enterprise content management platforms and platform operations.

The role develops software and automation and operates Alfresco ECM in on-premises private-cloud environments.

The role includes Level 3 production support and an engineering on-call rotation of about one week every four to five weeks.

Software development and engineering

  • Build and maintain content-management solutions, integrations, tooling, libraries, and automation using Python primarily and Java secondarily.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions, create architecture documentation, review code, and reinforce engineering practices.

Platform and operations

  • Deploy, configure, and operate Alfresco ECM platforms and provide Level 3 production support.
  • Evaluate SharePoint Embedded and Snowflake as content-management solutions and contribute to proofs of concept where applicable.
  • Coordinate with vendors on escalations, patches, and upgrades; maintain diagrams, configuration standards, release notes, and runbooks.
  • Troubleshoot full-stack issues across web and application servers, databases, and authentication layers.

Support and customer engagement

  • Participate in the on-call rotation and act as an escalation point for complex customer issues.
  • Work with Level 2 support, infrastructure, and security teams to diagnose incidents and communicate status, root causes, and resolution plans.
  • Use incident and customer-feedback trends to improve reliability, scalability, security, and preventive measures.

Required qualifications

  • 10+ years in software engineering, application development, or DevOps roles.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Python development and working knowledge of Java.
  • 5+ years supporting Linux and/or Windows systems, including troubleshooting, shell scripting, and automation.
  • Strong relational database proficiency and SQL-query writing; 3+ years with Microsoft SQL Server is preferred.
  • Networking fundamentals, load-balancing experience, and ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Tomcat and Apache web servers; familiarity with application security and authentication such as Kerberos, Mutual TLS, OAuth/OIDC, or SAML.
  • Experience with Maven or Gradle, Podman or Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, or Ansible.
  • Familiarity with Git-based version control, GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools, and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of message queues or event-driven technologies and enterprise architecture artifacts is preferred.

Compensation and benefits

  • The posting gives a base compensation range of 70,000 to 90,000 without stating currency or pay cadence.
  • The role may be eligible for variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions; benefits are available to eligible regular full-time employees and depend on local policy.
