Full-time, on-site Core Java Developer role in Montréal, Canada.
Develops features for the SD platform across backend microservices and a React/TypeScript frontend.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop full-stack features using Java/Spring microservices and React/TypeScript on a micro-frontend architecture.
- Expand automated UI and end-to-end testing with Playwright and Cypress, targeting 80% regression coverage.
- Use GitHub Copilot and other AI tooling for productivity, test generation, and automated code reviews.
- Participate across the SDLC, including requirements, design, coding, performance testing, rollout, and production support.
- Build relationships with supervisory stakeholders and business partners and support platform expansion to other divisions.
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of server-side Java experience with Java 8, 17, or 21 and Spring/Spring Boot on medium-to-large scale systems.
- Strong React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and HTML5 experience; micro-frontend familiarity is a plus.
- Hands-on Playwright and/or Cypress test automation experience and sound unit and integration testing strategies.
- Professional experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
- Relational databases and SQL, including PostgreSQL; object-oriented design, Java multithreading, data structures, and algorithms.
- Agile/SDLC experience and tooling including Git, Jenkins, Gradle, and IntelliJ or VSCode.
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and professional approach.
Additional preferred experience
- Supervisory or surveillance domain experience is a plus.
- Exposure to Kafka, Redis, Node.js 20+, Tableau, LaunchDarkly, or Camunda/BPMN workflows is a plus.
