Senior DevOps Engineer — Job Description Role summary

Lead design, implementation, and operation of scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Design and operate container platforms and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS/GKE/AKS), including networking, storage, and security.
• Develop, own, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar) for automated build, test, and deployment.
• Implement observability: logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry).
• Improve system reliability with SRE practices: SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, runbooks, and incident response.
• Automate repetitive ops tasks with scripts and tooling (Python, Go, Bash).
• Harden systems: secrets management, IAM, network policies, vulnerability scanning, and patching.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design fault-tolerant application architectures and rollout strategies (blue/green, canary).
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code/design reviews, and promote best practices.
• Manage cost optimization and capacity planning for cloud resources.
• Participate in on-call rotation and lead post-incident reviews.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years experience in DevOps/SRE/Platform engineering roles.
• Strong cloud experience: at least one major provider (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Proficient with Kubernetes and container ecosystems.
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform required, CloudFormation or Pulumi preferred).
• CI/CD tooling experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or Flux).
• Solid scripting/programming skills (Python, Go, or Bash).
• Experience with monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/EFK).
• Deep knowledge of Linux systems, networking, and security best practices.
• Experience with secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; experience mentoring others.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: QAR20.31 - QAR84.87 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
