Responsibilities
- Develop scalable web applications and services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Develop and maintain Shopify themes, apps, APIs, and integrations.
- Build REST, GraphQL, third-party API integrations, business logic, and database-driven applications.
- Customize themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
- Collaborate with frontend, project management, QA, UI/UX teams, and clients.
- Own modules, features, and projects; contribute to requirements analysis, solution design, and estimation.
- Review code, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Design integrations for payment gateways, ERP, CRM, and other ecommerce systems.
- Mentor developers and contribute to architecture and technical decisions.
Required qualifications
- At least 4 years of professional web development experience.
- Strong hands-on Node.js and TypeScript experience; Python knowledge is a plus.
- Understanding of web application architecture, software development, object-oriented programming, data structures, and design principles.
- Strong experience with REST and GraphQL APIs and integrations.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and Git.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, and secure coding.
- Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and production issue resolution.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to work independently and own deliverables.
Good to have
- Shopify or other ecommerce platform experience, including Shopify APIs, webhooks, functions, apps, themes, Liquid, and extensions.
- Experience with ecommerce integrations, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, Docker, CI/CD, and deployment pipelines.
- Previous Senior Developer, Technical Lead, or Team Lead experience.
