Responsibilities

  • What you’ll be doing
  • In this role, you’ll design, build, test and support Fujitsu Mainframe solutions that help deliver business change safely and effectively. You’ll work in a small specialist team, planning and tracking work through Jira while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Day to day, you may be developing new changes, reviewing code, sharing knowledge with colleagues, resolving defects, or supporting live service incidents. The role also includes participation in an on-call rota to help protect out of hours processing and keep critical services available for colleagues and customers.
  • About you
  • As a minimum requirement, you’ll have:
  • Fujitsu Mainframe development experience across the full change lifecycle, from analysis and design through to build, test and implementation
  • Experience supporting business-critical core banking applications in a complex technology environment
  • A practical problem-solving approach, with the ability to stay calm, focused and effective during live service incidents
  • The ability to manage your own workload across multiple concurrent tasks, priorities and delivery timelines
  • A collaborative working style, including experience of peer review, knowledge sharing and constructive feedback
  • A focus on quality, standards and safe delivery when making changes to critical systems
  • Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:
  • Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers’ shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind
  • Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think – we’re honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
  • Push for better - We don’t settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development
  • Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes
  • You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
