About the opportunity

A leading technology organization in Abu Dhabi is hiring a Senior Developer Experience Engineer for a newly established DevEx team.

The role builds and enhances an internal developer platform, AI-powered tools, automation, and self-service capabilities to improve engineering productivity.

Work spans multiple engineering teams and technology stacks in highly secure, on-premise, and air-gapped environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain internal developer platforms, tools, and workflow automation.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI tools for code generation, review, and testing.
  • Implement and manage LLMOps and AIOps solutions in secure on-premise environments.
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines, build processes, and deployment automation.
  • Build developer-facing applications, self-service portals, and command-line tools.
  • Integrate model management, training workflows, and dataset management.
  • Create dashboards for AI performance, reliability, latency, and adoption.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Software Engineering teams.
  • Drive adoption of tools and technologies across engineering teams.

Key requirements

  • Strong background in software engineering, platform engineering, developer experience, or DevOps.
  • Experience developing internal tools, automation solutions, or developer platforms.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Shell scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and containerization.
  • Experience with LLMOps, AIOps, or AI-powered development tools.
  • Experience in on-premise, air-gapped, or highly secure infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with GitLab, Terraform, Docker, and Linux.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development, testing, and deployment practices.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; MSc or equivalent preferred.
  • Java and Node.js are listed as nice-to-have languages.

Technology stack

  • Languages: Python, Go, and Shell; Java and Node.js are nice to have.
  • DevOps and infrastructure: GitLab, Terraform, containerization, Proxmox, and Ubuntu.
  • Build and package management: Conan, Gradle, NPM, and Yocto.
  • AI: LLMOps, AIOps, Agentic AI, and AI-assisted development.

Location and work arrangement

  • The role is listed as onsite in Abu Dhabi.
