Role overview

Application delivery and systems

• Build and maintain enterprise applications and digital solutions; lead the software development lifecycle from requirements through deployment and ongoing support.
• Manage and improve ERP, LMS, SIS, HR, Finance, and other institutional applications.
• Develop integrations, APIs, and data exchange mechanisms; contribute to architecture decisions for interoperability, security, scalability, and sustainability.

Collaboration, infrastructure, and quality

• Partner with departments, vendors, and technology partners on process improvement, automation, and digital transformation.
• Monitor cloud-based and on-premises application environments; conduct capacity planning and optimize performance, reliability, security, and availability.
• Provide advanced application support; test, debug, assure quality, and deploy solutions.
• Maintain technical, operational, and user documentation; provide training and knowledge transfer.

Projects and improvement

• Lead or participate in technology projects, including estimation, planning, implementation, risk management, and reporting.
• Conduct technical evaluations and prepare scopes, specifications, and procurement documents; coordinate vendors and service providers.
• Research emerging technologies, recommend improvements, and mentor technical team members.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least 6 years of progressive software development and enterprise application experience; proven full-stack development experience.
• Experience with enterprise systems, integrations, and higher education, government, or large enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, databases, APIs, and cloud technologies.
• Professional certification in software development, cloud technologies, Agile, or project management is listed as a qualification.

Essential technical competencies

• Mandatory hands-on expertise designing and managing unified data platforms with Microsoft Azure Fabric.
• System architecture design and end-to-end microservices architecture and operational management.
• Modern web and mobile application technologies including React, Next.js, Node.js, and NestJS.
• Hands-on CI/CD pipeline management and application deployments; Banner or equivalent higher education SIS experience, including student lifecycle management.

Additional competencies

• Full-stack development, object-oriented programming, API development and integration, SQL, and database management.
• Cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or equivalent; application security; DevOps and CI/CD concepts; Agile and Scrum.
