Senior Design Manager - Architecture

About This Role

Job Purpose: Responsible for the development through all stages of Architecture and Interior design deliverables, technical reviews, generation of information, assessment, program management, documentation, research and study as directed by the line manager.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize and direct the design activities through the entire project cycle of multiple projects. Function as the lead design professional in the Design Department/Technical Department providing quality design & program management, review, implementation of policy and procedures and interface. Report to the line manager and coordinate with the other stakeholders for Design and landscaping.
• Manage via direct input the development of design documentation, Variation orders, RFP's , Technical analysis and design presentations. Maintain a risk register and change register for control on all projects.
• Provide architects and engineers with clear and consistent direction via design reviews aesthetic direction, project goals and objectives, standards, site, schedule, and budget for each element of the design.
• Establish and follow an effective and efficient design review process to ensure that the design meets the overall goals and objectives for the project, provides maximum value for budgets, and are appropriate and enduring to meet the functional needs of the Client, the local Authorities, and project program.
• Manage the procurement of consultants through strong ability to generate RFP documents in coordination with commercial teams and generate precise technical evaluation of bidder proposals.
• Perform construction coordination and review on mockups, show apartments, mixed use builds and residential units for final implementation on the ground alongside construction team.
• Generate to highlevel of detail as required inhouse design test fits/design studies that require architectural/ID/landscaping input.
• Generate, monitor and maintain project programs for multiple projects by tracking and mediating to resolve/mitigate delays.
• Report to the ED and coordinate all project activities alongside the line manager to achieve Team milestones.
• Maintain a record of architectural and design consultants’ submittals and control in a timely manner receipt of all related correspondence and submissions.

Qualifications & experience:

• Work with and coordinate consultant’s design with internal engineering teams so as to ensure appropriate levels of design review and coordination (MEP, Structural, Construction etc).
• Degree educated in Architecture with 10 – 15 years of experience.
• Proven expertise in space planning and design management in a senior role for 10 years.
• Proven developer ability to manage projects through all stages of design and construction.
• Expert knowledge of project documentation QA/QC and local UAE authority regulations.
• Proven UAE experience with a leading Developer is essential and candidate must have an excellent grasp of building considerations.
• Strong competency in use of design software’s – AutoCAD, Sketchup,Revit or equivalent, MS Office.
