Debug software/firmware issues, develop testing scripts, and communicate findings to design engineers.
Testing and coordination
- Perform EMC/ESD testing and coordinate with contract manufacturers to ensure procedures follow SOPs and EMC standards.
- Collaborate with EMC and cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve software/firmware issues that impede testing.
- Prepare and execute EMC test plans; review test data, prepare reports, and investigate anomalous results with design engineers.
Lab and deployment duties
- Maintain and verify EMC test equipment; track calibration schedules and coordinate third-party calibration.
- Develop, customize, and maintain scripts for EMC testing.
- Generate implementation plans and provide technical expertise and guidance during deployment activities.
Experience and technical requirements
- Experience testing and debugging prototype consumer electronics, including software/firmware and EMC issues.
- Familiarity with EMC standards including EN55022, EN55032, IEC 61000-3-3, IEC 61000-4-2, IEC 61000-4-3, IEC 61000-4-4, IEC 61000-4-5, IEC 61000-4-6, IEC 61000-4-11, and ETSI 301 489-7.
- Experience supervising and performing EMC testing, with a focus on quality assurance and process optimization.
- Familiarity with lab equipment and maintenance procedures, including calibration and verification of ESD guns, surge testers, receivers, oscilloscopes, SAs, VNAs, cables, amplifiers, LISNs, and CDNs.
- Proficiency in scripting.
