Role overview
Manage mission-critical Oracle environments, including high-volume OLTP and data warehouse platforms.
The role requires independent troubleshooting and strong database architecture expertise.
Key responsibilities
- Administer Oracle databases, RAC, ASM, RMAN, and Data Guard using Broker.
- Monitor, diagnose, and tune database, SQL, and system performance.
- Troubleshoot production issues, restore service, identify root causes, and implement preventive actions.
- Manage Flashback, partitioning, indexes, tables, statistics, and database maintenance.
- Perform patching, upgrades, migrations, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery validation.
- Automate DBA tasks with Shell, SQL, PL/SQL, or other relevant tools.
- Review database architecture and recommend availability, scalability, resilience, and performance improvements.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams during incidents, changes, and maintenance.
Required experience and qualifications
- 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience in large enterprise production environments.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard Broker, Flashback, RMAN, ASM, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Advanced tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, execution plans, and wait-event analysis.
- Experience with high-volume OLTP and large data warehouse databases.
- Knowledge of Oracle architecture, internals, high availability, and recovery.
- Expertise in partitioning, indexing, table maintenance, statistics, and space management.
- Experience with Oracle patching, automation, and technical root cause analysis.
- Able to own work end to end and resolve issues independently.
Technical skills
- Oracle Database Administration and Oracle RAC.
- ASM, RMAN, Data Guard Broker, Flashback, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- AWR, ASH, ADDM, execution plans, and database wait-event analysis.
- Shell, SQL, and PL/SQL scripting.
- Database performance tuning, partitioning, indexing, and recovery.
