Role Overview
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, securing, and optimizing enterprise database environments while ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance across systems.
Key Responsibilities
✔️ Manage and maintain enterprise databases including installation, configuration, patching, backup, recovery, and performance tuning
✔️ Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues related to performance, security, connectivity, and data integrity
✔️ Design, implement, and optimize database structures, schemas, and data models
✔️ Implement database security measures including access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance standards
✔️ Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery strategies
✔️ Develop automation scripts and tools for database administration and monitoring
✔️ Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support business requirements
✔️ Manage capacity planning, storage optimization, and resource forecasting
✔️ Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides
✔️ Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives
Required Skills & Expertise
🔹 Strong experience with databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
🔹 Expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting
🔹 Knowledge of database security, backup & recovery, disaster recovery, and compliance best practices
🔹 Hands-on experience with scripting/automation using SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell, or Python
🔹 Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools
🔹 Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Qualifications
✔️ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or related field
✔️ 5+ years of relevant database administration experience
