- We work closely with all WWNZ business units, as well as with the broader wiq team.
- What you’ll do
- Reporting to the Head of Data Science & ML Ops YOU will develop, implement, and optimize the end-to-end creation, development, and delivery of new, robust, and reusable analytical, AI & ML solutions and predictive models for WWNZ.
- Own end-to-end outcome ownership and accountability for the full project lifecycle, including complex problem-solving and independent experimentation and design with minimal oversight.
- This includes advanced model development, designing and implementing GenAI solutions, conducting ethical reviews and bias assessments, and contributing to explainable AI methods.
- Demonstrates experience in developing and optimising algorithms, statistical (analytical and predictive) and machine learning models, and proficiency in programming languages and cloud technologies to deliver data solutions.
- Perform database ETL task to prepare data for machine learning algorithms
- Perform maintenance, unit testing, functional testing, and debugging of code to provide a robust error-free solution.
- Maintain and enhance the modelling data mart to ensure an efficient and accurate modelling process.
- Interpret analysis and modelling results in a business context and provide commercially focussed recommendations to support business decisions.
- Engage with business partners and delivery teams to ensure algorithms are delivered and implemented into production systems
- Develop and maintain state of the art advanced statistical and machine learning models to drive Woolworths objectives.
- Develop, maintain and enhance a variety of customer segmentation models and algorithms to uncover customer insights.
- What you’ll bring
- Proven commercial experience in statistical and machine learning modelling, with experience manipulating and ‘making sense’ of big data from disparate systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy and experience in working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Advanced working knowledge of analytical programming: SQL & Python.
- Exposure to Big Data platforms, such as Hadoop and Spark.
- Practical design & implementation of Gen AI solution.
- Experience in implementation of project MLOps pipelines, advanced monitoring and championing best practices.
- Experience in mentoring teams of data scientists.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Lateral thinker and present with excellent interpersonal attributes.
- Ability to query databases and perform statistical analysis.
- Ability to develop or program databases.
