Senior Data and AI Engineer

Role Overview

Workplace and Team

• The role is hybrid in London, with attendance expected one to two days per week.
• The engineer will work in a collaborative team with autonomy and opportunities to influence outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-powered solutions for client projects and proprietary products.
• Use prompt engineering, output evaluation, reliability improvements, and large language model integration in production systems.
• Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to solve complex business problems using data and AI technologies.
• Contribute to both client solutions and proprietary product development.
• Help influence technical direction and product development within a growing consultancy.

Key Requirements

• 4-5 or more years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience building AI-powered applications using large language models.
• Strong prompt engineering capabilities.
• Experience evaluating model outputs and mitigating hallucinations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients.
• Self-starter mentality with a high degree of ownership.
• Passion for AI and emerging technologies.

Desirable Experience

• Retrieval-Augmented Generation experience.
• Data engineering and large-scale data ingestion experience.
• Experience with Azure or Google Cloud.
• Exposure to financial services, ESG, or investment industries.
• Experience with data modelling and architecture.
