Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, build, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports across the business.

  • Identify trends in warranty claims, customer behaviour, and policy performance and recommend actions.
  • Build and maintain documented DAX and Power Query data models.
  • Champion data quality and governance with IT.
  • Mentor junior analysts in Power BI, SQL, and data storytelling.
  • Present findings to non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.

Essential Qualifications

  • A university degree at 2:1 or above in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Grade A or above at A-Level Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Typically 4 or more years of Data Analyst experience with substantial hands-on Power BI dashboard experience.
  • Advanced DAX and Power Query skills and strong working knowledge of SQL.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insight for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and evidence-based problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • A postgraduate qualification in a quantitative or data-related subject.
  • Experience with Python or R for analysis or automation.
  • Experience in automotive, warranty, insurance, or financial services.
  • Familiarity with Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, or similar cloud data platforms.
  • Microsoft Power BI certification such as PL-300 or equivalent.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary is £45,000 to £60,000 per annum depending on experience.
  • Benefits include 22 days of holiday plus bank holidays and a company pension scheme.
  • Healthcare support includes free eye tests, an employee assistance programme, and Mental Health First Aiders.
  • Employees receive a 30% discount on warranty products and may access an interest-free loan of up to £1,000 after six months.
  • The company offers staff incentives, social events, and a recommend-a-friend scheme.

Workplace and Contract

  • The role is full-time and permanent.
  • The role is office based in Blackburn with one day working from home.
