About This Role
As Lendo continues to expand, we are looking for a Senior Credit Manager to support the growth of our lending portfolio through hands-on credit assessment, strong risk management, and day-to-day leadership of the credit function.
This is a highly hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the detail, making credit decisions, and working closely with the team to ensure high-quality and efficient underwriting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential customers by analysing financial statements, cash flow, credit history, and key risk indicators
- Review borrower applications end-to-end, providing clear recommendations on approvals, declines, and deal structuring aligned with Lendo’s risk appetite
- Lead and support the credit team on day-to-day operations, including task delegation, prioritisation, and ensuring timely turnaround of credit decisions
- Ensure all lending activities comply with SAMA regulations and internal credit policies, maintaining strong governance standards
- Monitor portfolio performance, including repayments, arrears, and bad debts, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation actions
- Own and continuously improve credit policies and underwriting processes in line with business needs and market conditions
- Create and maintain product specifications and credit procedure documentation to support consistency and scalability
- Work closely with Product, Data, and Tech teams to enhance underwriting processes, automation, and decision-making capabilities
Qualifications:
- 6–10+ years of experience in credit risk / underwriting, ideally within SME lending or fintech
- Proven experience working within a SAMA-regulated environment
- Strong hands-on credit assessment experience with solid financial analysis capability
- Previous experience leading or mentoring a team
- Strong understanding of credit policies, underwriting processes, and portfolio monitoring
- Detail-oriented with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
