Job summary

Business growth and client coverage

• Develop relationships with international corporates and market credit facilities, treasury products and other financing solutions.
• Build profitable business and distribution opportunities in line with strategy, plans, budgets and risk appetite.
• Grow the client list, identify target-market opportunities and assess country, political, market and operational risks.
• Promote bank services to regional and international banks and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Maintain high service standards, competitive pricing and long-term client relationships; meet key clients regularly and circulate call reports.
• Monitor market and competitor trends and performance against asset, deposit, interest-income and fee-income budgets.
• Coordinate with business units, product specialists, alliance banks and overseas branches on client needs and international growth.
• Recommend products and process improvements to address market, customer and operational needs.

Credit risk and compliance

• Monitor customer limits and portfolio compliance, recommend action when risk deteriorates and prepare annual customer credit reviews.
• Maximize relationship profitability while maintaining asset quality and compliance with internal, regulatory and legal requirements.
• Ensure facility documentation, security, covenants and conditions meet standards; consult legal counsel on large or complex documents.
• Maintain ongoing customer and portfolio due diligence for AML/CFT, sanctions and KYC requirements.
• Respond promptly to internal and QCB audit and inspection reports.

Key competencies and product knowledge

• Client relationship management, sales and marketing, and resolution of client escalations and operational matters.
• Relevant knowledge may include corporate banking, international banking, financial institutions, trade finance, treasury, capital markets, project finance, contractor finance and credit risk.
• Specialist knowledge includes country and bank risks, trade finance instruments, loan syndication, risk participations, secondary-market trade, basic documentation and rating agencies.
• Compliance knowledge includes QCB country policy and FATF/QCB requirements for financial institutions and countries, as well as internal bank policy, delegation of authority and procedures.

Qualifications and experience

• University degree; a degree in business, finance or marketing is preferable. Postgraduate study in finance, accounting, management or science is preferred.
• 5–7 years of banking experience dealing with international corporates; international-bank or GCC experience is preferred.
• Strong English communication and presentation skills and strong credit and analytical skills related to banks and countries.
• Experience in syndicated or structured transactions and fundraising, and in trade finance products and risk participations.
