  • Coordinate franchisees, landlords, developers, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, municipalities, and internal teams.
  • Review drawings, CCDC documents, specifications, FF&E requirements, scopes of work, purchase orders, change orders, site instructions, and related documents.
  • Lead tender packages, bid coordination and analysis, scope reviews, negotiations, and award recommendations.
  • Manage project delivery, conduct site and progress reviews, track deficiencies, and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate approvals, permits, inspections, utilities, occupancy, turnover, and restaurant openings.

Design, budgets, and procurement

  • Coordinate brand, design, operational, and construction requirements across internal teams and external partners.
  • Validate design packages for constructability, operational functionality, code compliance, and brand standards.
  • Coordinate FF&E, kitchen equipment, millwork, finishes, graphics, signage, drive-through components, menu boards, lighting, shop drawings, fabrication, and installation.
  • Develop, forecast, manage, and reconcile project budgets and capital expenditures; review contractor draws, invoices, change orders, fees, allowances, credits, and project costs.
  • Use value engineering, procurement, negotiation, and cost-control strategies while protecting operational and brand requirements.
  • Monitor contractor, consultant, and vendor performance and provide direction and feedback.

Stakeholder leadership and compliance

  • Provide project leadership, communication, accountability, and executive-level reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings and handle competing priorities, negotiations, conflicts, and difficult conversations professionally.
  • Coach and mentor project managers, coordinators, and developing team members; support knowledge transfer and professional growth.
  • Identify lessons learned and improve project delivery, standards, processes, tools, reporting, and departmental practices.
  • Promote construction safety and comply with occupational health and safety legislation, building codes, accessibility standards, permits, municipal requirements, and company policies.
  • Manage construction, financial, schedule, contractual, operational, and stakeholder risks; escalate significant issues and maintain accurate project records.

Required qualifications

  • At least eight years of progressive project management experience in QSR, restaurant, retail, hospitality, or comparable multi-unit commercial construction; QSR or restaurant construction experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience independently managing multiple concurrent projects, including ground-up, pad, freestanding, inline, conversion, non-traditional, drive-through, and renovation projects.
  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
