Opportunity

Supports the Compliance function's management of AI and data matters across Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.

Contributes to advisory, policy and procedure, education and training, monitoring and surveillance, and compliance risk-management functions.

Supports responsible AI enablement aligned with organizational priorities.

AI compliance operations

  • Manage AI use-case and AIRA intake and triage using established risk-tiering criteria; escalate complex or higher-risk items to the Director, AI Compliance.
  • Administer low- and, with experience, medium-complexity AIRA cases, including findings, status tracking, and stakeholder follow-up.
  • Maintain a current, complete, audit-ready AI use-case inventory and related records; support control-evidence collection for audits and investigations.
  • Track remediation items, outstanding actions, and overdue tasks across the program.
  • Triage DLP alerts and exceptions under established risk thresholds and promptly escalate incidents under incident protocols.

Reporting and program support

  • Prepare recurring metrics on intake, triage, inventory and AIRA currency, control-evidence completeness, and overdue actions.
  • Support AI governance and NIST AI RMF reporting, roadmap deliverables, and other assigned regulatory or governance workstreams.
  • Support AI compliance, risk management, and responsible AI training and awareness materials.
  • Contribute to program workflows, templates, and procedures, including triage criteria and escalation paths.
  • Coordinate with Enterprise Security on NIST AI RMF, AI policy compliance, and DLP tooling and alerting; coordinate with Business Technology on approved AI tools and enterprise rollout.
  • Escalate ambiguous, higher-risk, precedent-setting, or out-of-scope matters; prepare recommendations and analysis for the Director's review.
  • As program maturity grows, take on more medium-complexity work independently as escalation thresholds are recalibrated.
  • Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Applied Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Data Governance; refer matters requiring judgment, negotiation, or policy interpretation to the Director.

What you'll need

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, audit, investigations, or technology operations.
  • A related bachelor's degree is preferred; equivalent experience is considered.
  • Strong analytical and case-management skills, including triaging and tracking high volumes of items against defined criteria and timelines.
  • Strong plain-language writing skills and ability to summarize findings clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Sound judgment about when to act independently or escalate; comfort with documented workflows and criteria.
  • Advanced familiarity with AI and data governance concepts, including AI risk assessment, DLP, and control evidence, gained through relevant experience.
  • Formal AI/ML technology expertise is not required.
