Senior CloudOps Engineer

About the Role

Infrastructure as Code

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform and Ansible modules for Azure and GCP.
• Enforce configuration standards and policy-as-code practices across environments.

Cloud Engineering

• Build and operate scalable, secure Azure and GCP environments, including AKS/GKE, App Gateway, VNets, NSGs, Key Vault, and managed identities.
• Implement governance, cost optimization, and compliance controls across subscriptions and projects.

CI/CD and Security

• Build and optimize Jenkins and GitHub Actions pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.
• Implement blue/green, canary, and rollback deployment strategies with observability and alerting.
• Integrate vulnerability scanning, code analysis, and compliance checks into CI/CD workflows.
• Manage secrets, certificates, and key material with secure vault solutions.
• Align infrastructure with FedRAMP, FIPS, ISO, and PCI standards in partnership with security teams.

Application and Reliability Work

• Contribute to portal application code using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frontends, REST APIs, and simple backend handlers.
• Integrate applications with standardized observability, secrets, authentication, and deployment patterns.
• Implement monitoring with Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, and Log Analytics.
• Define and tune SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets aligned to business outcomes.

Collaboration

• Partner with product and engineering teammates in planning, standups, retrospectives, release management, and post-incident reviews.

Required Experience and Skills

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, site reliability, or platform engineering, with full-stack application exposure.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud architecture and automation.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, and reusable module design.
• Strong experience with Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with security frameworks, container security, image scanning, and supply chain security.
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripting.
• Application-level comfort with portal-style web applications and REST backends.
• Daily use of AI coding assistants and ability to review AI-generated output for correctness and security.
• Strong troubleshooting across infrastructure, network, and application layers.
• Strong written and verbal English and ability to collaborate during US EST hours.
• Clear communication, ownership, problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, continuous learning, security mindset, and outcome focus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications are advantageous.
• Experience in regulated environments such as FedRAMP, BFSI, or healthcare.
• Experience with Ansible, ArgoCD, and security frameworks such as FedRAMP, FIPS, CIS Benchmarks, ISO, or PCI.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Working Hours

• The role follows a general shift with flexibility to support business and stakeholder requirements.
• Coordination with global stakeholders across different time zones may be required.
