Senior Cloud Solution Architect (Azure)

Role summary

Architecture and migration

• Design Azure architectures and define standards, patterns, roadmaps, and technical designs across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and hybrid environments.
• Conduct architecture reviews and align solutions with enterprise standards.
• Architect Azure compute, networking, storage, database, container, and integration infrastructure.
• Lead cloud migration and application modernization strategy, planning, and execution; identify technical risks, dependencies, and Azure-native opportunities.

Security, DevOps, and optimization

• Design secure Azure solutions incorporating Zero Trust, identity, access management, encryption, and network security.
• Architect hybrid connectivity using VNets, VPN, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, and related services; ensure security, compliance, and governance.
• Define and implement DevOps, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure as Code; promote automation with Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.
• Design data, API, integration, and event-driven solutions using Azure services.
• Design high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience; establish monitoring, observability, performance, and capacity practices.
• Drive Azure cost optimization and FinOps initiatives.

Technical leadership

• Lead architecture initiatives and collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering, security, DevOps, and vendors.
• Conduct architecture workshops, design reviews, and technical decision-making sessions.
• Establish cloud governance, standards, documentation, and reusable architecture patterns; mentor technical teams.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years in cloud solutioning, architecture, and technology, with strong experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong expertise in Azure architecture, infrastructure, networking, security, integration, and cloud-native services.
• Proven cloud migration, application modernization, and enterprise-scale Azure experience.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud governance.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.

Technical skills

• Azure: VMs, AKS, App Services, Functions, Storage, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, API Management, Service Bus, and Event Hubs.
• Cloud architecture: cloud-native, microservices, serverless, event-driven, hybrid cloud, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Security: Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Zero Trust, encryption, Key Vault, and network security.
• DevOps and automation: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Terraform, Bicep, ARM, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Networking: VNets, VPN, ExpressRoute, DNS, NSGs, routing, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Monitoring and observability: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, logging, and alerting.
