Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Senior Clinical Psychologist role based in Sharjah.
The Senior Clinical Psychologist will conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, clinical interviews, and diagnostic evaluations for children, adolescents, adults, and families receiving social services.
The role includes developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, providing individual, group, and family therapy, and monitoring clinical progress.
The specialist will offer clinical consultation to multidisciplinary teams, contribute to case conferences, and support the integration of psychological perspectives into social care plans.
Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, ensuring adherence to ethical and legal standards, participating in supervision and mentoring of junior staff, and contributing to training, outreach, and program development initiatives within SSSD.
Qualifications
- Doctorate (PhD) or Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in the field of clinical psychology.
- Advanced clinical expertise in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, family therapy, trauma-informed approaches).
- Strong skills in clinical interviewing, risk assessment, and crisis intervention within diverse community and social services settings.
- Proficiency in case formulation, treatment planning, and outcome monitoring for complex and multi-problem presentations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, provide clinical consultation, and support integrated care approaches.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clinical documentation, report writing, and family and stakeholder communication.
- Strong ethical judgment, cultural sensitivity, and demonstrated commitment to non-discriminatory, person-centered care.
- Experience in supervision, mentoring, or training of junior clinicians or interns is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritize tasks, and maintain professional boundaries under pressure.
- Familiarity with local health and social care systems in the UAE and knowledge of regional cultural contexts is an advantage.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is a strong asset.
