Senior Civil Engineer

Role overview

Engineering and design

• Supervise civil/structural designers and draftsmen and review their work.
• Prepare and check specifications, data sheets, designs, drawings, calculations, and reports.
• Review building services drawings and civil documents for foundations, pavements, drainage, roads, and related facilities.
• Manage design and design changes within project budget and schedule and coordinate with project disciplines.
• Conduct verification, studies, design reviews, and optimization for cost, construction, operability, maintainability, and HSE.
• Review bidder proposals, civil subcontract scopes, technical specifications, material requisitions, and project documentation.

Procurement and site support

• Prepare and review material specifications, requisitions, inspection and testing requirements, vendor documentation, and technical bid analyses.
• Support construction, commissioning, and handover; conduct site verification and resolve issues with site personnel.
• Lead on-site support for construction or commissioning and review project modifications and as-built documents.
• Prepare project estimates, budgets, schedules, progress reports, and meeting materials; monitor scope, quality, and schedule.

Experience and technical expertise

• At least 12 years of experience, including 8 years in conceptual studies, FEED, and detailed design of onshore structures.
• At least 8 years of oil and gas industry experience on greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Specialized expertise in civil/structural design for onshore oil and gas or infrastructure facilities and applicable codes and standards.
• Experience with concrete structures, buildings, earthworks, roads, underground networks, piling, equipment foundations, pipe racks and bridges, and drainage systems.
• Expertise with civil/structural software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, and AutoCAD; Navisworks, E3D, and SP3D are also listed.

Education and accreditation

• Full-time bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• MME engineering accreditation is mandatory; candidates without it must be willing to obtain it within the probationary period.
• CPEng status or undertaking the same is an advantage.

Communication and work scope

• Good spoken and written English communication skills.
• Able to work independently, supervise discipline work, and contribute across multidisciplinary projects.
• Able to work to tight deadlines and prioritize assignments.

Quality and safety

• Work within quality assurance provisions and promote health, safety, and environmental awareness.
• Follow occupational health and safety procedures and identify and report work hazards and incidents.
