Job Description

• Ensure equipment availability “KPI’s” are met and minimizes disruption of operations by following established manufacturer’s procedures and liaising with operations team through planning, scheduling as well as supervising the required corrective and preventive maintenance procedures in a safe, efficient and economical way
• Lead and supervise the pipe laying tensioners and abandonment & recovery system operations, and expert in carrying out the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to the pipe lay system to which he is assigned. Expert with various types of pipe lay systems and designs
• Lead and supervise the jacking operation on jack up barges as per the operating manual instructions and system limits. Great expertise in various types and functionality of barge jacking systems

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with applicable international and local clients oil field rules and regulation
• Ensure that Class and Statuary requirement are followed during operations
• Comply with all aspects of MARPOL required for the vessel and nature of operation
• Develop day-to-day work plans related to equipment and systems on board vessels
• Ensure implementation and compliance of the planned maintenance system for all machinery and equipment under his area of responsibility
• Carry out new installations, repair and upgrade of AI, equipment and systems
• Recommend plans to upgrade existing equipment and installations
• Ensure the implementation and use of Operations manual, Detailed/specific work procedures and job hazard analysis (JHA)
• Compile Dry Dock mechanical work list and supervising the dry dock activities
• Plan & coordinate with the Master, Superintendent & Technical Superintendent for all maintenance shutdowns
• Provide his recommendations to the Technical Superintendent for annual operating and capital expenditure budgets for vessels
• Ensure that there is an up-to-date inventory of equipment and systems’ stock levels, critical stock levels should be identified and maintained
• Ensure that adequate engine room watch keeping arrangements are in place both at sea and in port
• Ensure a high standard of house keeping with respect to bilges, engine room and related spaces
• Maintain contact with the vessel Master to ensure that all operations are being carried out as per client and company expectations
• Contribute to the overall operational effort by carrying out other tasks as defined by the Vessel Superintendent and/or deemed necessary by the company
• Ensure that all personnel under his control & supervision carry out their duties satisfactorily
• Perform job appraisals for his subordinates
• Ensure engine room official logs and records of all engine’s activities are updated
• Allocate jobs to, and supervise the activities of the mechanics, electricians, electronics technicians and other artisans under his control
• Provide technical advice to subordinates
• Personally diagnose faults and carry out tasks that are outside the capability or scope of his subordinates
• Ensure manufacturer’s maintenance procedures/frequencies are complied with and that only recommended fuels and lubricants are used
• Compliance in accordance with Company policies & procedures, Policy of Integrity & Code of Conduct and HSE standards
