Role overview

Senior Business Analyst specializing in policy administration on a delivery team serving insurers and MGAs.

Lead definition, documentation, and delivery of policy solutions; own policy lifecycle requirements, guide design decisions, validate implementation, and advise clients.

Policy functional and product work

  • Lead analysis and mapping of the policy lifecycle: quote, bind, issuance, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and reinstatements.
  • Define product configuration including coverages, limits, deductibles, rating and underwriting rules, and referrals.
  • Specify policy forms, documents, output generation, and integrations with billing, claims, reinsurance, and third-party services.
  • Partner with QA and development to ensure policy modules are correctly configured and integrate with downstream modules.
  • Identify policy workflow gaps and enhancements and recommend system and process improvements.

Business expertise and leadership

  • Lead requirements workshops and own BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria across policy product lines.
  • Validate solutions against client, product, and regulatory requirements; align them with business processes, compliance needs, and product definitions.
  • Guide testing strategy, review test cases, validate rating results and policy documents, and lead client demos, walkthroughs, and UAT sign-off.
  • Advise product owners, underwriters, actuaries, and IT stakeholders; communicate business impacts, manage scope and expectations, and resolve uncertainties.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior analysts on insurance concepts, SDLC practices, and client communication; contribute to BA standards, templates, onboarding, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of Business Analysis experience in insurance or financial technology.
  • Deep knowledge of the P&C policy lifecycle, including product configuration, rating, underwriting rules, forms, and endorsements.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or configuring core policy administration systems; billing and claims integration knowledge is an asset.
  • Experience leading requirements on enterprise implementations and creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong working knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and testing best practices.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills; experience mentoring analysts.
  • An insurance designation such as CIP or CPCU is an asset.

What the company offers

  • Competitive salary and benefits, professional growth opportunities, and $1,250 per year in professional development funding.
  • Performance-based bonuses, employee referral program, summer-flex Fridays, early closure before long weekends, and wellness incentives.
  • Collaborative and inclusive culture with regular virtual and in-person socials.
