Role and team

The Senior Business Analyst will contribute to developing a new generation of Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS).

The systems aim to simplify clinical trial operations and management, reduce costs, and accelerate treatment availability.

The role works with industry experts, product managers, engineers, project managers, architects, UX/UI, and domain experts.

The product serves external users and integrates with other Medidata offerings for clinical-trial oversight and monitoring.

Requirements and delivery

  • Define and document functional and non-functional requirements, user stories with acceptance criteria, and process maps.
  • Partner with product managers, other business analysts, and cross-functional teams to integrate CTMS solutions across Medidata's clinical technology suite.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, QA, and Technical Writing throughout build, configuration, testing, and release cycles.

Product quality and support

  • Ensure deliverables align with technical specifications and quality standards, and support defect-resolution workflows.
  • Serve as a CTMS subject matter expert, supporting product launches, upgrades, and post-release enhancements.

Team operations and knowledge sharing

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, provide timely progress updates, and escalate risks.
  • Document architectural decisions and resolution logs, and maintain team knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, quantitative, or business discipline, such as business administration, management information systems, computer science, or engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of Business Analyst or Product Management experience in the clinical trial arena.
  • Experience managing complex processes involving many stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Experience defining functionality and managing a story backlog using Agile methodology and tools.
  • Experience conducting stakeholder workshops to identify user needs and pain points and creating technical documentation of collected requirements.

Benefits

  • Benefits include medical, dental, family leave, life and disability insurance, a pension, and more than 25 paid holidays per year.
  • Many non-sales positions may be eligible for annual bonuses.
